A high quality hard rubber mouthpiece, not to be confused with Yamaha’s famous student range, suitable for classical playing.
The 5CM has a relatively narrow tip opening of 1.10mm and a longer 21mm facing length. Although sightly wider than the 4CM, it has a similar round core sound, particularly at lower dynamics. It is however, more flexible and is capable of some brightness when needed and slightly more free-blowing than the 4CM. Still better suited to small ensemble and recording work than it is to large scale solo or symphonic settings.
This example is in fantastic as-new condition and has never seen a ligature or reed - purchased new as a refacing blank, but I never got around to it!
